The clinical facet of IPE follows the psychoanalytic approach, that is, the psicanálise designed in an applied manner. The therapeutic groups, along with other offered modalities, go beyond the scope of traditional analysis, and some of IPE's services have a psycho-educational, informational, and preventive approach.

Nevertheless, it is important to emphasize that IPE works with the Freudian conception of the unconscious and the psychoanalytic concept of subjectivity. Thus, clinical practice and therapeutic listening are methodologically grounded and supported by this theory.

I conceive training as something broad and necessarily multidisciplinary. Thus, in the IPE – Courses sector, all theories that address the universe of parenting, perinatality, and postpartum, and that are relevant to our study, will be explored, including literature, philosophy, and other fields of knowledge.
